BB18 ¼ 1037 & DH45 - "Back to the Bush Festival" - 12th - 14th September 2025
From Friday 12th September through to Sunday 14th September 2025, the Southern Downs Steam Railway ran the Downs Explorer steam train out onto the Western Line to Miles, stopping for 2 nights at Chinchilla to bring a train load of festival goers to attend the "Back to the Bush Festival" held every 2 years in Miles, which celebrates all things country. This year steam locomotive BB18 ¼ 1037 was leased from DownsSteam Toowoomba to head the train as their C17 steam locomotive is in the final stages of its overhaul.
