Mostly Solo Three Mile Lake, Late October- Backcountry Canoe and Hammock Camp PART ONE
3 day backcountry portage trip to some of the most beautiful lakes in Nova Scotia. My dog and I set off on our own and spent most of the 3 days on our own. We were joined at the end of day 2 by Johnny, his daughter and her boyfriend. We had to leave them behind early the next morning to head home as I worked the following day. I was suppose to be going on a bow shoot/hunting style trip, but all the other guys couldn't get the time away from work. After finding out that Johnny and crew were going in for Friday night, I decided to head in 2 days early and have the camp site ready for their late arrival (they were leaving after work on Friday afternoon). This episode covers day 1 and 2, prior to being joined by the crew. It's late October so the temperatures are more to my liking for camping. It was about 5 hours of trekking to get in to my camp spot and then I spent the rest of day 1 collecting fire wood and cooking. Day 2 I explore some of the bottom end of the lake, then take a trip to the ranger cabin for lunch. Part 2 will pick up roughly after I leave the cabin. You will notice I've inherited an animated logo! For those not familiar, that is my Instagram account profile pic. My good friend James, @themightyanimator did that up from the logo I made on my ipad. I think I have a little chat about it in episode 2. Throwing around the idea of changing my youtube name to match, but not sure if that's a good idea or not?
