Black River Lake- Summer Weather, Low water

Dave, the dogs and I head out for a 1 night hammock camp on Black River Lake in Valley area of NS. I ended up packing everything I own but the boating, fishing, set up and cooking took up the better part of the two days. We set off for Panuke Lake, only to find they had drained most of the water. My wife also bought me a Harmonica! Don't worry though, I recorded VERY little of me playing it. We did end up playing quite a bit on the guitar and mando while drinking our whisky and rum, but it was dark and so I didn't record any of that either. This trip had a very laid back vibe, even though we were busy doing something most of the time. The fall colours were out in full force, which was a bit bizarre considering the temperature was 24 during the day and 18 over night. I made may be the slowest pulled pork I've ever done in the woods, largely because of the piece of pork I brought was a bit tough to begin with. Everything turned out amazing as usual (I don't know if it's possible for something not to taste good in the woods). The winds were pretty high, which lessened our exploration and fishing. We did find a new camp site as our previous one last July would have been too windy and inconvenient with the low water levels. It was a great trip and even though it was only a single night, it didn't feel short as we maximized our time out there, getting home much later than normal for this style of trip.
