700年前の晩御飯とは?中世ヨーロッパの庶民の晩御飯を1週間分再現してみた
[Rekimeshi], or "Historical Recreation Meals," recreates historical food cultures in the modern age. Today, we've recreated a week's worth of dinners eaten by ordinary people in medieval Europe. From the 12th to the 14th centuries. Medieval dinners in Western and Central Europe were primarily seasoned with salt, and cooking methods were almost exclusively boiling. From staple foods like black bread, to stews of root vegetables and salted pork, and even pork stew and wine enjoyed on special occasions, we've recreated a week's worth of dinners that ordinary people in medieval Europe actually ate. While not extravagant, it showcases ingenuity in preserving food, religious dietary restrictions, and the use of fat—all within the constraints of the time. What did ordinary people in medieval Europe eat, and how did they live their daily lives? Why not take a peek into the dining tables of ordinary people in medieval Europe, a world not depicted in history textbooks?
