2000年前の古代ローマのおかずとは?古代ローマの食事を一週間分再現してみた

[Rekimeshi], or "Historical Recreation Meals," recreates historical food cultures in the modern age. Today, we've recreated a week's worth of meals from the "Ancient Roman Empire," which lasted for over 1000 years, from the 8th century BC to the 5th century AD. A vast empire that dominated the Mediterranean world. At its peak, Rome developed a unique food culture. Staple foods included whole-wheat bread "panis" and homemade fresh cheese. And "garum," a fermented condiment that was essential to ancient Roman cuisine. From the nutritious leek dishes loved by the tyrant Nero to seafood pâtés luxuriously using black pepper, which was traded at the same weight as gold at the time. Why not take a peek together at the little-known meals of ancient Rome that formed the powerful foundation of this great empire?
