07 Ridge Beam Erected | Structure and Igloos Explained
Our project has made a turn. With the installation of the ridge beam, we're putting things back rather than taking things down for the first time. This will allow for the new roof structure to go up after. We also thought we'd take a few minutes to explain the remedial seismic and structural work that's been happening and share a bit of what we've learned about restoring a stone cabin in this part of Italy. Hope you enjoy! 0:00 Intro 0:35 First impression after a couple of weeks away 4:12 Cow and baby 4:21 First piece of structural steel 4:44 Finding the dated stone 5:13 Erecting the ridge beam 7:08 Straightening the beam 8:00 Fastening the beam 9:49 Measuring for beam overhang 11:23 Structural work explained 16:46 Wrap up and "Igloo" explained 17:52 Outro
