Kozbeyli Village: Where Time Stands Still in the Aegean 🌿 We begin our tour with Kozbeyli Village, located right next to Yeni Foça, hidden among pine forests and boasting a magnificent view overlooking the sea. This place is like an open-air museum, a blend of old Greek and Turkish cultures, with its narrow cobblestone streets, centuries-old plane trees, and authentically restored stone houses. As we wander through the village streets with our camera, you'll witness the magnificent riot of colors from the geraniums and bougainvillea hanging from the windows. Kozbeyli, with its unspoiled village life and pristine air, will soothe your soul. Şakir's Place and That Legendary Mortar-Ground Coffee ☕ Having come all the way to Kozbeyli, it would be a shame not to take a break in the shade of the centuries-old plane tree in the village square! Our steps lead us to "Şakir's Place," a symbol of the village that has defied the years. The coffee we drank here is very different from the Turkish coffees you know. We witnessed firsthand the stages of making mortar-ground coffee, prepared by hand in enormous stone mortars using iron pestles. This special coffee, which doesn't lose its oil and aroma because it's not ground in a machine, is slowly brewed over embers. We shared with you our feelings as we sipped that rich, frothy, smooth-tasting coffee with its rich aroma of roasted coffee. It's worth returning to this village just to drink this coffee! New Foça Coast and Historic Streets ⚓ After our peaceful moments in the village, we turn our route towards the center of New Foça. This charming coastal town, formerly known as Nea Phokaia, is captivating with its historical texture. As we inhale the iodine scent of the sea along the promenade stretching along the coast, colorful fishing boats and elegant stone houses bearing witness to history accompanied us. We tried to bring the unique, serene yet warm Aegean town atmosphere of New Foça to your screens.
