DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT MARMARA ISLAND: Marmara Island, located in Balıkesir, is Türkiye's second largest island after Gökçeada. It's a popular destination, especially during the summer months and on weekends, due to its easy accessibility from Istanbul, Tekirdağ, and Bursa. The island's most notable features are its clean sea, oxygen-rich nature, and world-famous marble quarries. Transportation: It's possible to reach the island by ferry from Istanbul (Bostancı and Yenikapı), Tekirdağ, or Erdek. You can find details of the ferry we took and the journey time in the video. Vehicle and passenger options are available. Places to Visit: Must-see places on the island include Çınarlı Village, Gündoğdu Village, Manastır Bay, and the marble beach. Our favorite, as you'll see in the video, was the island's center. The sea is generally clean and clear, but some bays may be rocky, so bringing water shoes is recommended. Food & Drink: Olive oil-based dishes and seafood are prominent in the island's cuisine. Island tea and mulberry juice are particularly noteworthy. For dinner, you can find many friendly restaurants along the coastline. Prices are much more reasonable compared to popular resorts (Bodrum, Çeşme).
