すごく人生楽になる『気楽な心のつくり方』【仏教の教え】

When you're traveling, there are uphill and downhill sections. There are days with pleasant, warm weather, days when you get caught in a sudden downpour, and days when wind and snow rage. Life is just like a journey; there are times of good fortune that make you feel exhilarated, and times of adversity that make you anxious, miserable, and want to disappear from this world. Just as a journey isn't always sunny or constantly rainy, life isn't always smooth sailing, nor is it always adversity. After good fortune comes adversity, and after adversity comes good fortune. You might feel disheartened, wondering how long this adversity will last, but it won't last forever. The world is impermanent. It's only for a while. The same is true for good fortune. Just when you're feeling elated, troubles will quickly arise. When adversity continues for a long time, even the smallest things can feel incredibly precious. In high school, my club was very strict; both the advisor and the upperclassmen were tough. Everyone had a buzz cut, we constantly had to shout, and we were forbidden from drinking water because it made us feel sluggish. Even during summer vacation, we practiced from morning till evening. The only break we had was one week during Obon (the Buddhist festival of the dead). I was so grateful for that break—I could sleep in until noon, watch the Koshien baseball tournament on TV, and hang out with friends. Everything felt so wonderful and I was so thankful. However, after that enjoyable week, the first and second days of practice in the scorching heat were incredibly difficult... It wasn't just the physical strain of going from air-conditioned living to the blazing sun; it was mentally exhausting too. When you go through hardship and suffering, even the smallest things become something to be incredibly grateful for. Conversely, when you're blessed with a comfortable life, even small things can become an immense burden on your mind. "Don't sink and surrender; don't float and become arrogant." If the uphill climb continues, you can expect a long downhill slope to follow. If you enjoy a long downhill slope, you must be prepared for a long uphill climb later. ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Understanding Buddhism" Official LINE Account Here ----------------------------------------------------------------- • Updates on videos and columns • Mini-corner explaining Buddhist terms in simple terms • Exclusive projects for LINE friends, etc. ▼"Understanding Buddhism" Official LINE Account Here https://lin.ee/GbzwYBX ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20-Lesson Free Email Course Here ----------------------------------------------------------------- https://peraichi.com/landing_pages/vi... ↑The free email course reveals the answer to the "meaning of life" as taught in Buddhism.
