常識破りな『浄土真宗のお盆』【本当のお盆の由来とは】

"Fuse" is a Buddhist term meaning "kindness." In ancient Indian languages, it was called "dana," and it is sometimes written with the kanji characters "壇那 (danna)." A husband might be told by his wife, "My husband just lazes around on his days off," but the word "danna" originally means "giver," so it's a term of respect for a husband who takes on the role of providing happiness to his wife and children. In contrast, calling a child "gaki" comes from the Buddhist concept of "hungry ghosts." A hungry ghost is like a hungry demon whose eyes light up with desire, constantly saying "I want it! I want it!"—someone who only thinks about themselves. Children cry when they want to cry, laugh when they want to laugh, without considering how others feel. Because they only think about themselves, children are called "gaki." "You're still a kid no matter how old you are" is a phrase used to describe someone who, despite their age, is incapable of considering others and only thinks about themselves. There are people who remain childish even as they age, and there are also people who, despite their youth, possess the spirit of a true gentleman. When observing people, it's often difficult to discern whether they are self-centered and childish, or considerate and gentlemanly. However, there are situations where you can determine which side you belong to. That is when you make a mistake. In a long life, everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes these mistakes can be so serious that you lose credibility, your standing, and even friends and family turn their backs on you. At such times, your mind will be filled with thoughts like, "How can I somehow pretend this mistake never happened?", "Can I blame someone else?", or "Can I come up with an excuse that will allow for leniency?" But these are the thoughts of a self-centered child. Since you have inconvenienced and hurt people with your mistake, the most important thing is a sincere apology to them. The question is whether you can do this or not. [Shifting blame, making excuses, and deception] or [sincere apology]? Few people can make this decision without internal conflict, but those who have the courage to make that decision, acknowledge their fault, and offer a sincere apology are truly "compassionate people." Even middle school students can do this if they are capable. But some adults cannot. The difference between those who can and those who cannot lies in whether they are a "husband" who can consider others' feelings or a "kid" who only thinks about themselves. While methods of earning money, gaining recognition, and attracting the opposite sex improve with age and experience, that doesn't mean one has "grown up." Whether one remains mentally a child or has matured is revealed in how they behave when they make a mistake. ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Understanding Buddhism" Official LINE Account Here ----------------------------------------------------------------- • Updates on videos and columns • Mini-corner explaining Buddhist terms in simple terms • Exclusive projects for LINE friends, etc. ▼"Understanding Buddhism" Official LINE Account Here https://lin.ee/GbzwYBX ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20-Lesson Free Email Course Here ----------------------------------------------------------------- https://peraichi.com/landing_pages/vi... ↑The free email course reveals the answer to the "meaning of life" as taught in Buddhism.
