The "Dream Cherry Tree" became a vessel for prayer for a mother who lost her daughter in the 1985 Japan Airlines jumbo jet crash. After the accident, the mother reportedly had a dream in which her daughter, along with many people, was walking towards a temple on a hill where cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
