Chop the ham, cucumber, and onion with a knife, then mix them with boiled macaroni and mayonnaise. ✨ Soaking the onion in water reduces its bitterness and makes it easier to eat. Thoroughly draining the water from the macaroni, cucumber, and onion is key to a delicious salad with a clear flavor. ┏ ───────────────────── ┓ Macaroni Salad -------------------------------------------------- 🛍️Ingredients (for 4 servings) Salad macaroni ……… 150g Cucumber ……………… 2 (200g) Salt ……………………… 1/2 teaspoon Onion ………………… 40g Ham …………………… 80g Mayonnaise …………… 5 tablespoons Grain mustard ………… 2 tablespoons Black pepper …………… to taste 🔪Tools Knife Cutting board Small bowl Medium bowl Large bowl Large colander Small colander Tablespoon Teaspoon Kitchen scale Chopsticks Kitchen paper Wooden spatula or turner 24cm Yukihira pot 📝A request from Shinpei-sensei ・Please wash the cucumbers in advance and pat them dry. * Cooking times for salad macaroni vary by manufacturer, so please refer to the package instructions. Always wash your hands before starting. -------------------------------------------------- 🍳Instructions ① Fill a pot with plenty of water (not included in the ingredients list) and bring to a boil over high heat. ② Remove the stems from the cucumbers and slice them into 5mm thick rounds. Place in a bowl, sprinkle with salt, and let sit for 15 minutes. ③ Cut the onion in half lengthwise, then thinly slice it vertically and soak in water for about 15 minutes. 💡Soaking in water reduces the spiciness. ④ Cut the ham in half, stack the halves, and cut into 5mm wide strips. Place in a large bowl. ⑤ Once the water in the pot boils, add the salad macaroni and stir with chopsticks. Cook according to the package instructions. Once the salad macaroni is cooked, drain it well in a colander. Let it cool as is. 💡Make sure to drain the water from the macaroni thoroughly. ⑥ Once water has come out of the cucumber, wrap it in kitchen paper and squeeze it tightly. Add the cucumber to bowl ④. 💡Squeezing out the water thoroughly prevents the flavor from becoming diluted. ⑦ Drain the water from the onion and pat it dry thoroughly with kitchen paper. Add it to the bowl. ⑧ Once the macaroni has cooled, add it to the bowl.
