Albstadt - Tailfingen (D - BW) Die Glocken der Pauluskirche

In Albstadt - Tailfingen, the bells c1-e♭1 -f1 -g1 [do3 -mi♭3 -fa3 -sol3] from the Czudnochowsky bell foundry in St Paul's Church, which is otherwise largely unrepresented in the region, ring out with an extraordinarily beautiful sound. The ensemble, produced shortly after the war, is certainly one of the best early works of this foundry! ➥ The interwar bells of St Paul's Church, cast in 1919 by the Bachert bell foundry in Kochendorf, miraculously returned to Tailfingen undamaged after the war. Due to the young age of the instruments, the congregation had justifiably no longer expected this return and a new, much larger set of bells had therefore already been ordered in 1948. For the new bells, the parish turned to the Karl Czudnochowsky foundry in Erding, which produced the four new bells in 1949 in the foundry's otherwise rather rare, medium-weight bell shape. This choice of form was certainly one of the reasons why the master succeeded in creating an extraordinarily sonorous ensemble, which in its entirety is certainly one of the best early works of the foundry. However, the hoped-for effect of the ensemble, which was definitely designed as a model peal, did not materialise, so that the peal of St Paul's Church was to remain practically the only peal of the foundry in this region. The four bells produce an impressive sound effect through the large sound windows. The large bell with its heavy clapper and high ringing angle dominates the peal at will.
