A huge shipment of parts for two Piaggio Big Block engines has finally arrived—and some of these components go far beyond ordinary catalog tuning. In the first part of the video, I unpack parts and service components for the Vespa and Big Block: — Malossi springs and drive belts; — clutch components and clutch bells; — Stage6, Polini and SIP parts; — NTN bearings and oil seals; — a YSS shock absorber; — jets, variator rollers and adjustment shims; — gearbox and steering components; — specialized tools for precise engine assembly. But the most interesting part comes next. I take a closer look at rare high-end components: — a massive HT Motoren intake system; — an oversized reed valve; — an original 35 mm Keihin carburetor; — adapters for different intake configurations; — a fully machined HT Motoren variator; — a reinforced aluminum gearbox cover HT Motoren; — a digital Selettra rotor ignition; — a Rubio’s Ignitions system with two ignition-advance maps. For comparison, I place the new intake systems, reed valves and carburetors next to Malossi and Dell’Orto components. The difference in size and construction is so noticeable that familiar Malossi and PM Tuning parts begin to feel like a completely different class of tuning. However, appearance is only the beginning.
