SVIO LOCOMOTORE A RAVENNA: LE OPERAZIONI DI SOCCORSO!

Sometimes on the railroad not everything goes in the right direction and sometimes a locomotive or carriages may go astray and this has been the case. On the evening of Tuesday 21 December 2021, while the D744.003 was preparing to tow shimms wagons from the port of Ravenna to the port, due to causes still under investigation, it was diverted shortly after an exchange causing the first trolley to escape and ruining the armament . At this point all the translations that were scheduled for the day were not carried out and on the morning of Wednesday 22 December the following convoy arrived from Bologna Centrale: E402B.180 + D345.1011 + 2 rescue wagons. On reaching its destination, the E402B was admitted to track 3 north while the D345 with the 2 rescue wagons left shortly afterwards to reach the place of the diversion. Once on site, after trying various methods to try to put the D744 back on its own, the damage was more serious than expected, so that a road crane was required. At around 2.30pm / 3.00pm road traffic was suspended in both directions to allow the Baldini company to unload the necessary equipment to be able to remove the locomotive. At 16.00 the road traffic resumed and since the rescue wagon was no longer needed given the extent of the damage, at 16.30 the D345.1011 together with the two wagons left to reach the Ravenna station where the E402B was already ready .180 to await its arrival. Only in the late evening of December 22nd the D744.003 was correctly repositioned on the tracks.
