Crossrail 2 would see a new rail line constructed from London's North East to its South West - following a very similar route to the Chelsea to Hackney underground line that was proposed in the 1970s. This line, however, would re-use a lot of London's existing rail alignments and connect them with a new rail tunnel underneath Central London. Unfortunately, due to budget over-runs of other projects like the Elizabeth line and High Speed 2, Crossrail 2 has been put on pause. So, in this video I'll look at why this pause happened, and if there are any chances the project will be resumed any time soon.
