A Qin and Yi Rui, both born in the 1960s, are a cross-cultural couple – she's Chinese, he's Czech – and both are painters. In 2010, using their savings and a bank loan, they built a 4,000-square-meter nonprofit art museum in Songzhuang, Beijing. Over the past ten years, the museum has hosted numerous Czech-Chinese cultural exchange exhibitions and events. Today, they also live and create their art here.
