How to Gain Strength. Today I'm going to be training some legs and shoulders, but the focus of my workout is going to be mainly doing some heavy squats with 405lbs. I don't train heavy all the time, but it is a necessary part of gaining muscle and strength. It is important to challenge your body throughout all the rep ranges in order to gain muscle, but gaining strength is the most important part.
