My First Ever Wild Camp | Brecon Beacons, Wales
This was our very first time wild camping — no campsite, no phone signal, no electricity. Just the sound of the wind across the hills, a heavy pack on our backs, and the beauty of the Brecon Beacons (or Bannau Brycheiniog, as it’s known in Welsh) guiding us forward. We set off on a misty, rain-soaked hike to Llyn Fan Fawr, a remote lake tucked away in the heart of one of Wales’ most breathtaking national parks. Carrying 15–18kg packs filled with budget-friendly hiking and camping gear, we made the 2.5-hour trek through wet, boggy trails — slipping, laughing, and slowly falling in love with the wild. Setting up camp by the water felt surreal. Despite the midges, soggy shoes, and sleepless night, this trip became one of those unforgettable firsts. Through this vlog, I wanted to share the raw, peaceful, and sometimes uncomfortable truth of wild camping in the UK. There’s something deeply grounding about cooking outdoors in the middle of nowhere, waking up surrounded by fog, and sipping hot coffee while sheep graze nearby. This short film captures the highs and lows of wild camping in Wales for the first time — the kind of experience that makes you feel alive, free, and connected to the land. Whether you’re planning your own hike in the Brecon Beacons, curious about camping without a site, or simply craving a peaceful escape into nature, I hope this video inspires you to take that first step off-grid. 🌄 Hike to: Llyn Fan Fawr 🏕 Wild camped in the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog), South Wales 🌧 Weather: wet, windy, misty — perfect for reflection ⛰️ Chapters 0:00 – Intro | Our First Wild Camping Adventure Begins 0:26 – Chapter One: Starting the Hike Through the Brecon Beacons 2:24 – Chapter Two: Wild Camping by Llyn Fan Fawr in Wales 6:30 – Chapter Three: Midges, Mountain Coffee & Cooking Outdoors 9:20 – Chapter Four: Sunset Views & Evening Scenery in the Hills 12:22 – Chapter Five: Hiking Back Through the Brecon Beacons 14:00 – Chapter Six: Visiting Henrhyd Falls – Last Stop Before Home If you love peaceful outdoor vlogs, first-time camping experiences, or hiking videos in remote landscapes, this one’s for you. — ✨💖 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨𝐬 & 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬: 🏕️Wild Camping • 🚗Car Camping •✨Solo Adventures: • Wild Camping Adventures 🏕️ ✈️ Travel & Vlogs: • Playlist 🎥 Life Stories: • Playlist ✨ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐌𝐞 ✨ 📧 𝙱𝚞𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜𝙸𝚗𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜 & 𝙲𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜: [email protected] 📸 𝙸𝚗𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚖: / maella.99 🔔 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 & 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲: / @maelladventures ☕ 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤: If you enjoy my content and would like to support my journey, you can buy me a coffee here: https://buymeacoffee.com/maella.99 💖 Every little bit helps me continue creating videos, improving my content, and sharing more of what I love.
