As someone who has performed Shakespeare on stage for years, it's hard to describe the excitement this atmosphere creates in me. 🥪 One of the first stops is Borough Market, one of London's legendary markets. Here, I'm in search of a delicious toast that I can't forget the taste of from years ago. Melted raclette cheese, caramelized onions, and delicious bread… Sometimes the simplest ideas turn into the most unforgettable flavors. 🍄 My next stop at Borough Market is Wild Mushroom Risotto. Here I'm eating black truffle risotto. With its intense aroma, creamy texture, and black truffle topping, this dish is one of the most special culinary stops in London. 🍔 Then I stop by a burger joint I discovered entirely on instinct. And of course, at Burger & Beyond, which I've been curious about for a long time, we dive into London's burger world by trying the Bougie Burger and bone marrow gravy fries. 🍰 One of the sweet stops of the day is the famous Basque cheesecake at La Maritxu, where it's almost impossible to stop eating. For another sweet break, we taste the ice creams of world-renowned chef Alain Ducasse. 🥟 When night falls, we head to Chinatown, London. At Dumplings' Legend, we finish the night with dumplings, noodles, dim sum, and a variety of flavors from Far Eastern cuisine. 🥧 We also don't miss the opportunity to experience the traditional pie and mash at the historic M. Manze, one of London's classics. With a history spanning over a century, tasting the character of English cuisine in its original setting is a unique pleasure. 🧢 There are also little surprises while wandering the streets. A hat shop, theatre conversations, the Globe Theatre Shop, and delightful moments leading up to Shakespeare… 🧩 But the most special part of this section isn't the food. Seeing the mosaic works we worked on years ago with my master Ferit Özen at The Bentley London was an indescribable feeling for me. The works we meticulously crafted alongside my master, starting as a 17-year-old apprentice, reappearing before me almost thirty years later was not just a visit to the past, but one of the most meaningful gifts life offers. Moreover, the fact that this reunion happened thanks to my son Ferit deepened the feeling even further. Being able to share with you the respect I feel for my mentor, the fruits of my youthful labor, and the gratitude I've carried within me throughout the years, made this episode unforgettable for me. Sometimes a journey isn't just about seeing new places. Sometimes, a person also journeys back to their own past.
