[Line] Tobu Isesaki Line (TI-02) [Location] Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture [Station Overview] This station is the central station of Kuki City and a transfer station with the JR Utsunomiya Line. Direct 10-car trains from the Hanzomon Subway Line and Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line run to this station, so many trains originate and terminate here. Downbound trains use platforms 1 and 2. Platform 1 is used by limited express and limited express trains that run directly north of this station, as well as trains that terminate at this station. Platform 2 is used by trains that originate here. Upbound trains use platforms 3 and 4. Platform 3 is used by some initial trains and trains that terminate at this station, while Platform 4 is used by many initial trains, including limited express and limited express trains that run directly from north to south of this station. The automated announcements previously used detailed announcements, but are now standard announcements. Previously, the old standard male voice announcements were used, and destinations related to direct trains on the Hanzomon Line and Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line could only be heard on Platform 3 at this station and Kita-Senju Platform 3 (Hikifune Platform 3 had a female voice announcement, Sengendai and Tobu Zoo Park had no automated announcements, and Wado, Sugito Takanodai, Satte, and Minami-Kurihashi had simplified announcements). The male voice announcements for the TH Liner bound for Ebisu can only be heard at this station, but on weekends and holidays, TH Liner No. 4 uses a simplified announcement, presumably because it reverses direction and enters the station from the Tobu Zoo Park side. The speakers are TOA string type, and are shared by each island, so they occasionally overlap. The departure melody is played in two turns and one chorus. Due to the high volume of passengers getting on and off, it generally plays for one chorus, but express trains often depart after passengers have finished getting on and off, so the melody is sometimes cut off in the middle, and Platform 3 opens late, so the melody is sometimes cut off after one turn or less. Previously, only Platform 2 had a loud distortion, but this has now been resolved.
