[Lines] Tobu Skytree Line, Tobu Isesaki Line, Tobu Nikko Line (TS-30) [Location] Miyashiro Town, Saitama Prefecture [Station Overview] This station is located in the center of Miyashiro Town. The west exit is bordered by downtown Miyashiro Town and Tobu Zoo, while the east exit is bordered by downtown Sugito Town, across the Oochi-Furutone River. This station is the last station to be nicknamed the Skytree Line. While this is the starting point for the Nikko Line, no Nikko Line trains terminate at this station; all trains run directly onto the Skytree Line. Some Skytree Line trains depart and terminate at this station, and some Isesaki Line trains also depart and terminate at this station. The station has two platforms and four tracks. Platform 2 is used by Nikko Line inbound trains, and Platform 3 is used by Isesaki Line inbound trains. Trains departing from this station depart from either platform. Downbound trains mainly use platform 4 for those heading to the Nikko Line, and platform 5 for those heading to the Isesaki Line, but there are some exceptions for reasons such as connections and waiting for trains to pass. The automated announcements are standard detailed announcements, and were introduced very late, in 2015. Platforms 4 and 5 often have station staff announcements coming from the office, so the announcements are often muted. Announcements are slow on platforms other than platform 2, and for downbound trains in particular, they may start playing just before entering the station. The speakers are TOA string type, and as they are shared by each island, they may overlap. When the departure melody was first introduced, a generic melody was used, but in 2013 it was changed to the "Tobu Zoo Theme Song." Due to wiring issues, the signal can be delayed and is often cut off mid-way. The speakers are TOA triangular type.
