Atentado contra tenente: polícia fecha cerco a criminosos envolvidos

Police are continuing their search for the two men who shot Military Police Lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel in São Caetano do Sul. The incident occurred when the officer was returning home on Avenida Goiás and was shot in the back of the neck by criminals on a motorcycle. While the perpetrators remain at large, two other suspects have been arrested on charges of aiding in the escape. The detainees are a 40-year-old man and a 52-year-old man, captured in the eastern zone of São Paulo. One of them confessed to involvement in the crime; the other is implicated by material evidence linking him to the vehicle used during the criminal act. Both are under temporary arrest ordered by the court. During the investigations, vehicles associated with the logistical support of the crime were seized for forensic examination. Authorities are awaiting the results of cell phone analysis of the devices confiscated from the suspects and hope to identify fingerprints or genetic material in the cars involved. In another operation related to the case investigation, a man was killed in a confrontation with ROTA police officers, also in the eastern zone of São Paulo. However, he had no direct connection to the attack against Pimentel. Lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel was off duty when he was attacked while waiting at a traffic light on his motorcycle. He was rescued by the Águia helicopter and remains hospitalized in serious condition after emergency surgery.
