The Road Trip Is OVER! | TDM122

Bore da campers! Welcome back to a milestone, high-drama portion of the Daily Meat—Episode 122! Today marks 100 consecutive days of vlogging every single day of my life, travels, and adventures! But instead of popped champagne, we are celebrating bright and early at 4:00 AM, still completely stranded on a Welsh mountain pass after the RAC's overnight contractors completely ghosted us. With a brutal 31°C heatwave looming and zero shade on the mountain for Bruno, I pop the T4 into service mode to check the fuel lines, hunting down a fuel starvation issue. Thankfully, the solar panels are keeping the fridge crispy cold, but our power station is dropping fast. When the RAC cavalry finally arrives, the patrolman diagnoses a completely dead lift pump in the fuel tank. He goes well out of his way on a 1.5-hour round trip to source an inline 12v electric fuel pump to bypass it, but unfortunately, the main diesel pump solenoid has called it quits too. The Meat Wagon is officially done, facing a 10-day National Recovery transit back to the homestead. After a lift to Swansea, the daily vlogging adventure goes hyper-modern. We get hooked up with an air-conditioned 74-plate Nissan Juke hire car, complete with annoying speed limit beeps, a futuristic key fob, and eco-modes we definitely won't be using. We strap the fridge into the back seats, plug into the 12v socket to keep the juices frosty, and hit a grueling, sweaty 250-mile journey home through 35°C Birmingham traffic. After dodging a 2-hour Tesco parking fine nightmare back in Pontardawe, we finally cross the border back into England, hit South Lincolnshire at dusk, and pull into the Spalding services for a milestone meat feast celebration! With nationwide card machine outages causing chaos, we secure a sticky barbecue drip box meal from KFC, prop the phone up on the infotainment screen, and chow down on some serious dripping goodness. 5 hours and 7 minutes of driving later, we are officially back at the homestead. The road trip to Cornwall is over, but the daily vlogging streak is alive and kicking! Huge credit to the RAC patrolman who went above and beyond for us.
