Since we can't take the Meat Wagon out wild camping just yet, we're doing the next best thing—loading the kit into the boot of the best daily 4x4 on YouTube, hitting the tarmac past the Friday holiday traffic on the A17, and heading out to Shep Whites car park for a bit of legitimate off-roading! We parked up in the rough terrain, set up the solar panel to harness free electricity from a cloudy, milky sky, and fired up the 900W Chefman air fryer straight out the back of the Suzuki Vitara. After checking the immobiliser lockout codes, we stripped off the engine cover and found the culprit: a leaking valve cover gasket has completely saturated the diesel pump timing belt in oil, causing it to strip out and slip! I'm absolutely over the moon that it's a mechanical belt fix rather than a nightmare electrical problem. We've got the new belt, tensioner, and gasket on order, so the bus should be back on the road in just a few days!
