The Koshidai Cherry Tree in Furudono Town stands elegantly in the mountains. Its appearance when you look up at it is simply breathtaking. ■Koshidai Cherry Tree (Furudono Town) Estimated to be over 400 years old. A giant mountain cherry tree standing 20 meters tall. It is designated as one of the Forestry Agency's "100 Giant Trees of the Forest" and a natural monument of Fukushima Prefecture. Located in the mountains at an altitude of 560 meters, it is also known as the latest-blooming cherry tree in the prefecture. It was selected as the East Yokozuna (Grand Champion) in a ranking of single cherry trees in Fukushima Prefecture chosen by amateur photographers. (Photographed April 20, 2026)
