Street food paradise. Udaipur, India.
I spend the morning sampling the street food delights of Udaipur, India, where I'm introduced to flavors I've not come across before. At two different street food stands I try a local breakfast-type dish called Dhokla which is a spounge cake topped with a subtle spicey sauce, and Poha a favorite soft sweet and sour rice plate. I also meet a man who helps me push a cart of heavy cement for a worker then invites me to his place and explains his battle with depression and how he managed to come through his experience. A group of young travelers and a family from Mumbai welcome me into their groups to enjoy this amazing local food. I'm constantly greeted by friendly Indian people who make me believe India may be the most welcoming country I've ever travelled. There's a genuine sincerity I experience when meeting locals where I get the distinct impression people from Rajasthan are some of the most hospitable people in the world. Another great travel experience in India.
