Into the Outback | Broken Hill to Queensland via Milparinka & Tibooburra

In this episode of Vet in a Van, we continue heading north from Broken Hill, diving deeper into the outback as we make our way toward Queensland. Our first stop is Packsaddle Roadhouse, the perfect outback stopover — a great place to pull up for the night, enjoy a solid feed, and share a few quiet drinks with fellow travellers. The next morning, we hit the road again and continue north along the Silver City Highway, stopping in the historic town of Milparinka. Once a bustling mining settlement, Milparinka has been beautifully restored and is well worth taking the time to explore if you’re passing through this remote corner of New South Wales. From there, we roll into Tibooburra to top up our water supplies before crossing into outback Queensland. Our final stop for the day sees us camped out in the middle of the desert, perched at the base of a sand dune and treated to an absolutely spectacular outback sunset — the kind that makes the long distances completely worth it.
