Back on the Road Again! Ouyen Lake Camping & Whyalla Caravan Life

In this episode, we leave Victoria and begin making our way towards South Australia, with our first stop at Murray-Sunset National Park — the second largest national park in Victoria, located in the beautiful Mallee region in the state’s north-west. But things didn’t quite go to plan. An unexpected family emergency meant we had to return to Victoria for a few more weeks and step away from socials for a little while. Then it was time for take two. We set off again, this time stopping first at Ouyen Lake — and honestly, what a gem. This low-cost camp sits right on the lake, with beautiful grassy sites, and it was the perfect spot to wait out some hot weather for a few days. After that, we crossed into South Australia and made our way to Whyalla. We hadn’t been there since we first started our big lap back in 2020, so returning felt pretty special. I also had to fly back to Melbourne for work, so we stayed in Whyalla for the week — and during that time, the boys learned a very important caravanning life skill… #VetInAVan #CaravanLife #FamilyTravelAustralia #SouthAustralia #OuyenLake #Whyalla #TravelAustralia #CampingAustralia #BigLapAustralia #RoadTripAustralia
