Relieving stress fractures in steel.
Sometimes, particularly with carbon steel, you can work and create a stress fracture. Where possible this should be dealt with immediately. In this case the fracture has appeared in an area I will be cutting away so I just need to stop it from spreading further. Here's the technique I use for that.
