Make a medieval thigh plate. Part 3 of 5. Initial Shaping.
Enough theory onto the practical. In this video I take a look at the initial shaping I do of the leg plate. There are many ways to skin a cat; and this is just one of them. I have seen armourers that bend the plate first and then shape it from the front; many have superb results. I just find this way is quicker, yields the same result and offers me enough control throughout the hammering not to panic. I also take a quick look at different hammers that you can use. As ever, please consider taking a look at my ko-fi page if you like this video and find it helpful. All donations through ko-fi will be going back into the channel as I seek to find new ways to improve the content's depth and reach.
