Making medieval thigh plates, cuisse. Part 1 of 5, medieval armour techniques.
This is the first part of how I rough out the main cuisse plate of the leg armour. Through the series I plan to take a look at what is crossing my mind as I complete the task and try to cover just about everything I can. The pattern I show in this video is a little to curved along the bottom section, the curvature should be a little shallower. I used to make them like this when I wasn't certain just how far 'into' the poleyn they needed to be and I wasn't concentrating when I drew this, so make it about 2cm shallower at the deepest point and you should be fine using the techniques I did in this video. If you don't you'll just need to cut it out when it is fitted. I hope it's useful to you.
