The Houses Changed... Scotland Didn’t | Three Scottish Viewings | Ep 54

This week didn’t go quite as I expected. After travelling back to Scotland, I had three very different property viewings lined up: a Cottage near Fochabers, Hillhead of Ardmiddle near Turriff, and Jackston of Melrose near Gamrie. One had woodland walks almost from the door but some big compromises. One felt much closer to the dream, with character, land and forest walks nearby — but went under offer before I had chance to act. And one was a low-priced auction property with around four acres, but also a huge amount of work. It was a week of surprises, quick decisions, disappointment, and another reminder that the housing market doesn’t stand still, for the my kind of property if keenly priced. But somewhere along the way, I realised this trip wasn’t only about the houses. Spending time in Huntly, walking the dogs, exploring the castle, trees, town and surrounding countryside, has made me think more deeply about what “home” really needs to feel like.
