She Built a Tiny Home So Beautiful She Never Wants to Leave

After leaving city life behind, Joanne sold her Sydney apartment, became debt-free, and built a tiny home so beautiful she never wants to leave. Nestled in the stunning Blue Mountains, this tiny house is surrounded by magical gardens, tree ferns, rescue animals, chickens, goats and peaceful forest views. For Joanne, this home represents so much more than downsizing. After walking the Camino de Santiago and later dealing with a life-changing workplace injury, she began rethinking what she truly needed from life, home and happiness. With the support of her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne was able to create a mortgage-free tiny home on family land, giving her a fresh start, financial freedom and a deep sense of peace. Her tiny house has been beautifully designed for comfort, practicality and future-proof living. Inside, there’s a full-size kitchen for baking and cooking, a spacious bathroom with a luxurious bathtub looking out into the garden, a clever loft bedroom, mudroom, laundry, plenty of storage and even a separate cosy living pod with a wood fire. That second pod also gives Joanne flexibility for the future, as it could one day become a downstairs bedroom if needed. This tiny home tour is a beautiful example of simple living, debt-free living, thoughtful small space design and creating a home that truly supports the life you want to live. We hope you enjoy the tour of this very special tiny home. ❤️ If you enjoy our show and would like to help support our work, please consider supporting us on Patreon:   / livingbig   🌟 Our Socials and Links: https://linktr.ee/livingbig 💡 Find out more about this tiny house and others on our website: https://www.livingbiginatinyhouse.com/ 🙌 Please subscribe for more videos on tiny houses, architecture, DIY, design, and sustainable, off-grid living. 00:00 A tiny home dream in the mountains 00:29 Welcome to Joanne’s Blue Mountains home 00:59 How Joanne came to live on family land 01:36 Creating the magical gardens 02:13 Rescue goats, chickens and cats 03:01 How walking the Camino inspired tiny living 03:47 Leaving Sydney and rethinking life 04:08 Selling the apartment and going mortgage-free 04:29 Finding the perfect tiny house design 04:59 The size of Joanne’s tiny home 05:28 Why she added a second living pod 06:23 Exterior design that blends into the forest 07:03 Inside the tiny home 08:01 A full-size kitchen for baking and cooking 09:28 A cosy sitting nook and clever storage 10:07 One of the most luxurious tiny house bathrooms 11:50 The mudroom, laundry and bathroom layout 12:47 Growing mushrooms in the tiny home 13:07 The loft bedroom 14:00 Hidden storage behind the bedhead 15:21 Life after two years in the tiny home 16:01 City life vs mountain life 17:00 Becoming debt-free and finding independence 17:55 The cost of building the tiny home 18:29 Future plans, travel and family 19:19 The Camino connection 19:49 Final thoughts on Joanne’s beautiful home ~ Presented and Produced by: Bryce Langston Camera: Rasa Pescud & Bryce Langston Editing: Sarah Binder & Rasa Pescud Title music in this video by Bryce Langston:    / brycelangston   'Living Big in a Tiny House' © 2026 Zyia Pictures Ltd #tinyhouse #tinyhousetour #livingbiginatinyhouse #simpleliving #mortgagefree #homedesign
