The KPK uncovered an extortion scheme involving incentives for tax officials in Sukoharjo. The modus operandi was "padakno karo bapak," meaning "equate with father." In this context, the father referred to is the Sukoharjo Regent from 2010 to 2021, Wardoyo Wijaya. Wardoyo is also the husband of the current Sukoharjo Regent, Etik Suryani. The "padakno karo bapak" code reflects the continued tradition of illegal payments in Sukoharjo, at least since Wardoyo took office. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the "padakno karo bapak" (father) code was used to pressure officials and civil servants to deposit the same amount of money as the one paid to Regent Wardoyo. Etik ordered the Head of the Sukoharjo Regency BPKAD, Richard Tri Handoko (RCH), to deduct and collect approximately 40 percent of the total incentives received by BPKAD employees.
