Review: The Philharmonia Orchestra--Birth of A Legend. Really?

Here we go again, another grab-bag of CDs, twenty-four this time, dedicated to documenting the origins and early (mostly) years of the storied Philharmonia Orchestra. Does Warner's concept work? Well, not really--which isn't to say that there aren't some marvelous performances in the set. How could there not be? But do you need this? Probably not.
