upstairs at the estate: ep. 3 - where it was, part III

As I continue the backstory of what had already happened on the second floor before the main upstairs project truly began, this is part three of three “where it was” episodes. Today we’re wrapping up the “where it was” trilogy by looking at the primary bedroom and balcony, two spaces that ended up being directly tied to the water damage I had discovered a year ago in the Drawing Room project. This episode covers the balcony being torn out and rebuilt so it could safely handle actual occupants, instead of merely serving as an architectural suggestion. We’ll also visit the primary bedroom, where carpet came out, the room was color-drenched in a dark, moody blue, and I started shaping the direction I wanted the space to eventually take. This final backstory episode sets the stage for the main upstairs project: the repairs, the redesign, and the year-long process of transforming this part of the Estate into something far more intentional, functional, and beautiful.
