the fondest farewell: saying goodbye to paolo This is a different kind of video, coming to you off-cycle and not part of any "series" on the channel. Today, I’m remembering Paolo Parker. He was my sweet, endearing, loyal little old man cat and the mascot of this channel, and I am sharing the story of our last couple of days together this past January. This isn’t a renovation episode or a project update or anything polished into something easier to carry. It’s just me trying to honor a cat who was part of my life, my home, and my heart for almost sixteen years. Paolo was there through so many versions of me. Through moves, projects, grief, change, quiet mornings, late nights, and all the ordinary little moments that somehow become the most sacred after they’re gone. In this video, I talk about who he was, what he meant to me, and what it was like to say goodbye. I also want to be very clear that this video is not monetized and has no ads. I’m not sharing Paolo’s story as a way to profit from grief. I’m sharing it because he mattered, because so many of you have seen pieces of my life inside this house, and because he was part of that life in a way that deserves to be remembered.
