The owner complained that he couldn't remove the gearshift switch from the park position. It could only be removed by using the emergency release. The automatic transmission is operating in emergency mode. Diagnostics using the Launch x431 pro 3S scanner and similar tools (Ediag, Kingbolen, Diagzon, Thinkdiag, Thinkcar, Thinkscan, mucar, Autel, etc.) revealed an error in the TCM, specifically error number p0885-13, which stands for Transmission Control Module Power Relay Control - Open Circuit. A visual inspection and removal of the connector from the automatic transmission control unit revealed moisture ingress, oxidizing, and rotten connectors. There were no similar units or connectors nearby, so I had to improvise and repair the unit using a home-made method. After the repair, the unremovable error became intermittent, was cleared from the control unit, and the shift lever began shifting as expected, with the transmission operating normally.
