Maitland Bay 15052026

Today Greg and Gary are out to find what had been an elusive to find route from Bensville to one of our favourite coffee spots opposite the Maitland Bay car park on the Scenic Rd. We set out at the end of Yarram Rd on what appears to be a track. Very soon we realise it is a road to no where in particular. After talking with a local we try to find a trail at the end of Wards Rd. What follows is an interesting, bushbashing kind of experience, in which we encounter goats, some serious up-hill walking and then finally a connection with cliff track which runs parallel to the Scenic Rd. From Cliff track we cross the Scenic Rd and join Stroms Trail which leads us to Arnies coffee van and our long awaited drinks. Having enjoyed our coffees we decide to find a more defined route back to our starting point. To begin we retrace our steps along Stroms trail, then Cliff track, then Macmasters Ridge Fire Trail. We know there is a path back down to Bensville along here. By chance we come across a couple of locals who point to a less than obvious trail which leads us straight down a steep decline to Huntley Road, close to where the car is parked. It was a great walk through amazing bush land and although we collected a couple of leeches on the way it was a fantastic experience. #CentralCoastBushwalking #hiking
