For example, more than two thousand people have chosen to move to Argentinian border cities like Gualeguaychú and Concordia to take advantage of the exchange rate difference with Uruguay. At the same time, many compatriots are choosing other countries to live and work in. In 2022, more people left Uruguay than entered, resulting in a negative balance and reversing trends from previous years.
