ホークのエンジンO/H編⑤クランク廻りの点検☆ポンコツCB400Tエンジンオーバーホール☆バブ男くん!
★Please subscribe to our channel (it helps us work harder!♪) ⇒https://bit.ly/3dAqanT This time, I'll be explaining how to inspect the crankshaft on a Hawk! The crankshaft...it's just a simple rod. But it's the core rod that serves as the starting point for all that rotational motion. If it's bent or rubbing against the wrong size metal, it won't perform as well. If the crank is damaged, you'll want to replace it, but it's hard to find a good one. Currently, while there are supposed to be five different types of main metal, only one size, B (black), is supplied. This is a huge disadvantage when building an engine, and it's a matter of life and death. This has led to a new problem, like with this engine: "Ignore the size and just replace the metal that's provided." This is not limited to Hawks, but is common for any car with limited metal supply. Since the dimensions are specified to the 1/1000th scale, it can lead to seizure or insufficient oil pressure. Depending on the original condition, there are many cases where an overhaul should have been performed, but instead the lack of metal means that the crankshaft is damaged during assembly. By carelessly selecting metal with the wrong dimensions, a crank that could have been a great hit is ruined. Rather than assembling metal with the wrong dimensions, it may be better to reuse used metal that is within the correct dimensions and is at the very limit of its usable life. If you are serious about this, you can grind the crankshaft once and then build it up with hard chrome (a type of plating) to match the specified dimensions. This is not realistic from a financial standpoint, but it is the ideal finish. Metal and crankshafts are extremely valuable parts! Please be sure to check the details carefully. I think used engines are quite common like this. Once taken apart, they are often damaged due to incorrect assembly or part selection, and since it's 40 years old, you're bound to find something when you take it apart. Some compromise is necessary, but if there are areas that can be fixed with some investment, focus on the key points and repair them one by one. *Please! If you are disassembling the engine, please be sure to have the service manual ready! It contains important information such as detailed precautions. In addition to preparation and review, it is packed with data necessary for assembly. Assembly is impossible without the service manual.
