Musician Reacts to Paul Weller – Wild Wood | How Did I Miss This for 30 Years?!
Today's reaction was another Super Thanks request from @NickLittle8909, and once again... thank you, Nick, for your continued support and for introducing me to Paul Weller's incredible solo work. This wasn't just another great song—it actually brought out some unexpected emotions. It's hard to explain, but there's almost a sense of loss knowing that this music came out in 1993, over 30 years ago, and this is the first time I've ever heard it. I honestly don't know how Paul Weller's solo career completely passed me by. Every song I've heard so far has been outstanding, and I'm kicking myself for missing it all these years. Maybe that's where the emotion comes from. I don't know whether to blame myself for not searching harder for new music back then, or if it was simply because so much of what was getting radio play where I lived just wasn't very good. Either way, I'm incredibly grateful to be discovering it now. As for "Wild Wood," I thought it was absolutely beautiful. The production is phenomenal. I loved the layers of acoustic guitars, the clean electric guitar parts, the subtle strings, the tasteful keyboard textures, and the way everything blended together so naturally. It never felt overproduced—just incredibly well crafted. I've now heard three songs from the Wild Wood album, and based on those alone, it's shaping up to be an absolute masterpiece. I'll reserve final judgment until I've heard the entire album, but so far... it's been nothing short of incredible. Thanks again to @NickLittle8909 for sending me on this journey through Paul Weller's solo catalog. Want your request moved to the front of the line just like Nick's? Consider sending it through Super Thanks! There's a short video at the end showing exactly how it works. Thanks so much for watching, and I'll see you next time here on Riffs and Reactions! #PaulWeller #WildWood #ClassicRock #BritishMusic #MusicReaction #MusicianReacts #FirstTimeHearing #SuperThanks #NickLittle8909 #RiffsAndReactions
