📜 EL MITO DE #ERIS - La Yanina Latorre de la Mitología (Cap.12)
Eris is the Greek goddess and personification of discord and conflict. She is an unpopular figure in Greek mythology due to her troublesome behavior and ability to stir up trouble wherever she goes. Eris is most famous for her apple of discord, which played a key role in causing the Trojan War. Throughout Greek mythology, Eris is portrayed as a mean and troublesome figure. Many of her fellow gods and goddesses avoid her. The only god who tolerates her is her brother Ares, who often goes into battle with her and rejoices in the horrors of war. In the Iliad, Homer mentions that she often roams the land, sowing hatred against both the Trojan and Greek armies. Unlike Ares, who ultimately sided with the Trojans, Eris never took sides during the Trojan War. In Book 11, Zeus sent Eris to Odysseus's ship, where she screamed with her terrible, powerful voice, stirring the fighting spirit in the hearts of every Greek soldier and effectively preventing them from sailing home. At one point in the Iliad, Eris is the only one of the deities who remains on the battlefield to watch the fighting unfold, exhilarated by the bloodshed like a fish in water. Hesiod presents an alternative Eris in his work Works and Days, which is believed to have been written after his Theogony. In Works and Days, Hesiod suggests that there are two Erises: the younger, secondary one is terrible to humans and causes them trouble, while the primary Eris is older and a force for good, instilling a sense of competition in humanity rather than a fighting spirit. 🎟️ THEATER TICKETS: https://linktr.ee/romiscalora ☕ If you'd like to contribute to help keep these summaries going, you can do so here: https://link.mercadopago.com.ar/larom... 🌍 And if you're from another country and would like to donate, you can do so here: https://paypal.me/romiscalora?country... ▶️ Instagram: / laromiscalora ▶️ Twitter: / laromiscalora ▶️ TikTok: / laromiscalora ▶️ SUBSCRIBE TO THE CHANNEL: / @laromiscalora
