The Canadian Army Newsreels were ten-minute films, made up of a number of different stories and produced by the Canadian Army Film and Photo Unit. Dubbed with the phrase, "of the troops, by the troops and for the troops," these newsreels were distributed within the Canadian Army. Please note that some names may not be spelled correctly. 1. Lorne Scots Lay Memorial Plaque: Canadian soldiers visit an old church in Surrey, England, and perform a ceremonial presentation to mark their activities. 2. Return from the Rock: General McNaughton greets Major J.G. Tatum and the 2nd Tunnelling Company in England; Lieutenant J.D. Bryce is heard giving a radio interview. 3. C.C.S.: A casualty clearing station in operation, where wounded soldiers are received from ambulances, X-rays are taken of a soldier's leg, a nurse and doctor examine patients, and convalescents enjoy the fresh air on the camp grounds. 4. Squadron Shoot: The 1st Division Princess Louise Dragoon Guards Reconnaissance Unit in the field, shooting at an old house; armoured cars move in once the position is taken. 5. Tank Landing: The 1st Army Tank Brigade trains at sea with the navy and takes part in landing exercises with Churchill tanks. 6. Wet Feet: Training in landing craft and making a beach landing with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. IDC: 33062.
