Psalm 92 ~ A Song for the Day of Shabat
Lyrics adapted from Psalm 92 for study and meditation of meaning: A song for the day of Shabat It is good, fitting, and beneficial to give thanks and acknowledge YHWH, and to sing praise to your name, Most High. To declare your loyal love in the morning, and your trustworthiness through the darkness of night. With a life tuned carefully, like strings in harmony, with measured thought and steady heart of a lyre, I will sing. For you, YHWH, have made me rejoice through your work; in the deeds of your hands I shout with joy. How great are your works, YHWH; immensely deep are your thoughts. A brutish man does not know, and a senseless person does not understand this. When the wicked sprout like grass and all workers of wrongdoing flourish, it is only so they may be destroyed forever. But you, YHWH, are exalted forever. For behold, your enemies, YHWH, behold your enemies will perish; all workers of wrongdoing will be scattered. You lift up my inner strength, like the wild ox lifts its horn. Preserved and made gentle, anointed with fresh oil. For you, YHWH, have made me rejoice through your work; in the deeds of your hands I shout with joy. How great are your works, YHWH; immensely deep are your thoughts. My eye looks upon those who watch me with hostility; my ears hear of the evil ones who rise against me. But the righteous will flourish like the fruitful palm tree; he will grow tall and endure, like the cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of YHWH, they flourish in the courts of our Elohim. They will still bear fruit in old age; they will be full of vitality and freshness. To declare that YHWH is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no injustice in Him. For you, YHWH, have made me rejoice through your work; in the deeds of your hands I shout with joy. How great are your works, YHWH; immensely deep are your thoughts. #psalm92 #shabbat #isreal www.facebook.com/shamartorah www.shamartowrah.com Video, images and music by Dee Powers ~ All Rights Reserved 2025.
