Simeon, who received a call from God from a simple life of herding sheep, wanted to get closer to God through severe fasting and prayer. But when thousands of people began to seek him out after hearing about his miraculous healings and prayers, he found a different way to completely separate himself from the world. Standing on a small stone pillar (Pillar / Style), he spent 37 long years praying on that pillar, enduring snow, rain, and sun. He is the one who started the asceticism method known in history as the 'Stylites'. Standing on a tall pillar, he gave spiritual advice to emperors and ordinary people who sought him out, and led many idolaters to the Christian faith.
