For diagnostics and repairs We brought in a KIA Sportage. The reason for the call was that the "Check Engine" light came on on the dashboard, indicating an engine malfunction. When I connected the scanner, the scanner wouldn't turn on, and I couldn't run diagnostics. The diagnostic connector was missing power, specifically positive 12V. After checking, it turned out the +B module fuse was missing. After installing the fuses, the scanner turned on, and at the same time, the driver's mirror folded in, even though the passenger's mirror remained unfolded. When I tried to fold the mirrors, the passenger's mirror folded in, but the driver's mirror unfolded. The issue was resolved by re-pinning the contacts in the driver's mirror connector. The car reconnected, and I was able to read the error codes. Using a professional multi-brand scanner like Launch x431 and similar products (Ediag, Kingbolen, Diagzon, Thinkdiag, Thinkcar, Thinkscan, mucar, Autel, and others), two errors were detected in the engine's ECU: the first, P0011 for intake camshaft and the second, P0014 for exhaust camshaft. After investigating the circumstances surrounding the malfunction, it was determined that the engine was significantly short of oil, which contributed to the low oil pressure and the occurrence of these errors, but this is inaccurate.
