Burgoyne Track - VHC

This video profiles the section of Burgoyne Track located to the west of the Licola Road. The track runs between the Black Range Track and the Licola Road and is an outstanding 4wd track. The track features some very steep sections with loose rock, washed out rutted sections and exposed rock. Overall, this is a very technical track that requires 4wders to be on their game. One of the major obstacles on this track is Burgoynes Crossing at the Macalister River. This crossing has claimed many 4wds, and you need to be super careful crossing when the flows are up. You can find the current river levels at a nearby downstream gauge on the BOM website (http://www.bom.gov.au/fwo/IDV67203/ID.... Note the river at this gauge was 0.21m at the time of this video. The track section from the Macalister River to Licola Road is super steep and loose in some sections, and needs to be driven carefully. One of the features along the track is Morning Glory Hut which can be accessed via a track from the intersection of Green Hills and Burgoyne Tracks. Overall track time is approximately 1.5-2.5 hrs.
