Climbing Mount Rainier | A Story About Mountains, Family & Decision | June 13, 2026

Mount Rainier has a way of reminding us why we climb. This weekend adventure began with a series of unexpected blessings. At the last minute, we found the final available room in Paradise, secured a climbing permit through the waitlist with help from a wonderful couple from British Columbia, and headed toward Camp Muir with my daughter, Kelsey. We camped on the Muir Snowfield beneath an unforgettable sunset, walked to an incredible alpine sunrise, and began climbing toward the upper mountain. Although we did not reach the summit, this became one of my favorite mountain experiences. Sometimes the greatest success isn't standing on top—it's making the right decision, coming home safely, and appreciating every moment shared with the people around you. Mount Rainier continues to teach humility, patience, and respect. I hope this video helps anyone planning a climb and reminds us that every mountain has its own story.
